With the introduction of the Regulatory Reform Order on 1st October 2006 Fire Safety Law significantly changed and now has major implications for all businesses in England and Wales.
The new law now simplifies previous fire safety law by consolidating over 100 separate pieces of fire safety legislation.
The new law repeals both the Fire Precautions Act 1971 and the Fire Precautions (Workplace) Regulations 1999, as amended, placing responsibility for fire safety firmly with the employer or 'responsible person' for a building. This 'person' is now required by law to assess the fire risk within a building using an acceptable means of risk assessment.
WMFE provides this service as the "competent person".
Upon completion of fire risk assessment WMFE will provide you with a user friendly risk assessment report, to enable you to understand any fire safety risk assessment issues and deal with them in priority order. It is a vital part of the exercise that the document is reviewed and a documented plan is put into action to address any issues arising.
Whether you require just the fire risk assessment & report, in isolation - or a full programme of implementation support, we have in depth knowledge of fire prevention and can prepare a cost effective solution without compromise to safety, through qualified & competent personnel to support both fire safety and the success of your operation, its premises and its people.
